VARIATIONS

Here's my rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Variations of Nicolo Paganini's 24th Caprice.

Released in 1978 this album featured Andrew's brother Julian on cello and the UK band Coliseum II which included some monster players such as Gary Moore, Don Aiery & Rod Argent.

A lot of Andrew Lloyd Webber fans probably aren't familiar with this album, but surprisingly Variation 7 was featured in the new School Of Rock musical as well as several other motifs seem to have been recycled from this project. So perhaps some people will reach back into the ALW archives and discover this gem. Hopefully not, because I like to keep it a secret. :)

Anyway, this album was a huge inspiration in my formative years and it was a treat to be able to pay tribute to this music and ALW. It also segued my interests from musical theatre into the prog rock world.
