Hello there! Got a few new things and a few new old things on my workbench for the rest of the year and into 2020 and wanted to share some updates about them with ya...
THE DARKEST OF SUMMERS
The Darkest Of Summers WILL be released sometime in early 2020...finally!!!
You may remember me first announcing this new album way back in the beginning of the year, for release aptly on the first day of Summer... well after months of losing a battle with my iMac, it was put on hold. Then it was put back on, a couple months ago.
I had actually uploaded my mixes to Soundcloud at the end of 2018/early 2019 for my friends to listen to, so not all my work was for naught. Most of the mixes were done anyway, some were not. So what you'll end up hearing on the final release was the stuff I had on deck at the end of last year.
Sadly, some of the mixes weren't actually done and I had a few more things to add to the recordings, but whatevs. In some ways this is good because it forced me to accept what it was and release the darn thing...because I actually had no choice. I could've and would've worked on the piece for another few months I'm sure.
The tracks have been sent to my pal Michael Zucker in Boulder,CO to master who always makes my poopy sounds, sound not so poopy.
Within the batch of tunes I managed to savage from my computer pooping the bed was a new CITIZEN 603 tune.
I've been pretty dormant with this side project as my interest in Synthwave and the whole 80's nostalgia thing had pretty much dried up. Kinda got it out of my system ya know?
So unlike the heavy concept, neo-futuristic story of my 2016 album, this new single is pretty straightforward.
No story, no sub-text - just a straight ahead, guitar-centric song inspired by 80's guitar gods such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
The only caveat is that it takes place...IN SPAAAAAAACE!!!!
It's a bit of a different spin on that whole genre, but it still fits I think.
....and I'm gonna make a music video for the single...it's gonna be fun.
I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU...STILL!!
....and if you happened to miss it the first 5 times I talked about it, I released a music video for my latest hit single "I'm So Happy For You"...a song all about how I hate social media...but if you're reading this, then that's probably how you found this post.
The video was shot entirely on my iPhone in my basement, it was the best I could do with no budget and even less time.
With the assistance of my kids, I thought it turned out alright but still had to go overboard with the production (like I always do).
I promise my next few videos will be more simplistic.
Well, that's all I got for now.
Talk to you soon!

PS - If you've enjoyed all I've been working on and would like to aid me in my quest financially...there are a few ways to do that.
Either way, if you've made it this far down, then I would like to thank you regardless...I love you.
