Released on December 15, 2023, Universal Gravity is Part II of my Æombiance series, exploring the more ambient, soundscape-driven side of my creative output. In the early ’90s, my Dad brought home a Windham Hill sampler tape and Ray Lynch’s Deep Breakfast. That’s where my love for New Age, ethereal, and ambient music began. I’m not particularly religious or spiritual, but this music opened a window into something that felt otherworldly.

In recent years, I’ve found myself returning to this style of music, either to cleanse the palate, so to speak, or perhaps because I’m getting tired of listening to music. It’s also the kind of stuff I put on when I can’t sleep. During my own album recording sessions, I often sprinkle these sounds throughout my music as background textures, song segues, or ambient drones. You may recognize some of these audio tapestries from my other releases.

I do plan to record a proper New Age album someday, in the vein of the aforementioned Yanni and Ray Lynch records. This is the closest I’ve come for now. So put on some headphones, close your eyes, and experience Universal Gravity.
