OUT TODAY!, Part II of my Æombiance series, UNIVERSAL GRAVITY explores the more new agey, soundscape and ambient side of my creative output.
This is an album that you can legitimately fall asleep to and I won’t be insulted.
When I was younger, my Dad got a Windham Hill sampler tape as well as Ray Lynch “Deep Breakfast”. Thus began my love for New Age music & ethereal/ambient music.
I’m not too much of a religious or spiritual person, but this music definitely opened a window and gave me a glimpse of something otherworldly.
In recent years I find myself reverting back to listening to this type of style. Either to cleanse the palate if you will…or perhaps because I’m getting tired of listening to music. Additionally, this is the kind of stuff I put on if I can't sleep.
During my album recording processes, I’ll typically add in sprinkles of these types of sounds, as either background noise or song segues or ambient drone. So, you may recognize some of these audio tapestries.
I do have plans to record a proper “new age” album in the vein of the aforementioned Yanni & Ray Lynch album. This is the closest I can get for now…so put on some headphones, close your eyes and experience UNIVERSAL GRAVITY.
